Is your vision any clearer?

September's ELEV∆TE featured ambient visuals by TY, original songwriting by Isaiah Pang, awesome sharing by Sim Yihui and a call by Joshua Teo for youths to rise up beyond low expectations in their lives. It was amazing and really encouraging to see so many of you responding to God and deciding to live the 1Tim 4:12 life - one that is not based on worldly standards or influenced by our idea of what is good; but one that is anchored in the eternal truth of God's word and passionately inspired by His Holy Spirit! The challenge for you now is not to just say it, but to DO IT! May I encourage you to continue to live out that commitment you made on Saturday and start experiencing the reality of God's transformation power in your life today!

Watch out for the next Elevate on October 9th! We have invited the Ignite team from Richmond AOG church in Melbourne and they will be bringing a unique time of worship and an anointed word for all of us. You don't want to miss out on this opportunity to bring your pre-believing friends! Seriously!

Oh yes, and check out the highlights from ELEV∆TE: Vision Chart above!

ELEV∆TE TV #02: Chart Toppers

In Elevate TV #02, we get up on our soap box (well, just a chair, really) to break out into song, and anticipate our next session: VISION CHART.

Do we tire of seeing things the same way? Our vision gets narrow and the less we tend to it, the more tunneled vision we get. Join us on Sept 19th as we explore breaking out, giving new things a go and believing that we are a generation that will not be overthrown. Tune in, get your eyes checked, your vision realigned. There's going to be soap box preaching, worship and more suds to go around. So wash them eyes clean. Our vision depends on it. See yah this saturday!

Sat 19.09.2009
7.30 - 10pm
TOUCHCENTRE
4th Floor - TC Chapel
3 Marine Parade Central

Sim Yihui was the co-leader of the Singapore Women's Everest Team that reached Everest Peak on 20 and 22 May this year. She will be sharing her experiences, her struggles and what it took to conquer the big mountain.

Isaiah Pang, our very own Youthnet songwriter who composed "Jesus Died for Me" will be sharing his thoughts on the unexpected success and popularity of his song and giving tips on how to get started if you want to write songs too!

Elevate TV #01: Chair

What gets you off your seat? Join us. Elevate.
For Elevate's first video, we were inspired by the metaphor of a chair. What if we turned this everyday object we sit on into something more: a platform for creativity and expression?

Motivated by the idea, we went in search of a location. We scooted off to abandoned rooms that looked like they'd been bombed; to an idyllic landscape on top of a mountain, but we found that we needed that archetypal room, a white cube, in order for it to work. Then, we searched department stores and offices for a simple chair, to represent all other chairs that have ever been.

To rescue us from room gloom slash chair despair, we finally found the perfect space through a totally serendipitous phone call with our friends, creative agency PlasticSoldierFactory, who invited us to take over their warehouse in the East for a day.

Amazing how God provides resources when you just step off the edge -- with storyboard and camera in hand, and great company around.

Look out for more Elevate adventures to come!

28 Aug 09 - East of Eden

Elevate is a brand new platform for everyone with a passion for youth, ideas and fellowship to gather without any walls. There will be food, great worship and an inspiring message!

Our theme this round, East of Eden speaks about how many of us as young people have drifted away from God's original intention for our lives, just like how the Isrealites ended up in captivity in Egypt. We need to take a stand and find our promised land in God's destiny once again!
